Day 01

Arrive Cochin

Your South India tour begins with your arrival in Cochin, where you will be met by a Trans India Holidays representative and will be transferred to your chosen hotel for a 2 night stay.

Day 2

In Cochin

This morning head out for Cochin's half day of sight seeing starting from the Dutch Palace, The Portuguese constructed The Mattancherry Palace in 1557, and presented to the Maharaja of Cochin, Veera Kerala Varma (1537-61) as sign of goodwill. After 1663, the Dutch carried out some constructions and renovations in the palace, and from that day it was widely called as the ‘Dutch Palace’, continue your sightseeing to The Jewish Synangogue, The Jewish Synagogue is located near the Dutch Palace. This synagogue was constructed in 1568 and was brilliantly decorated by Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers. The Synagogue has a giant scroll of the Old Testament, then to the Cochin Harbor, the very popular tourist attraction the Chinese Fishing nets. These fishing nets are one of its kind and are found only in India, then to the St. Francis Church which was constructed in 1503 by the Europeans. This church was the oldest church in India. And finally visit the Hill Palace which was constructed by the Raja of Kochi in the 19th century. The Kochi province was ruled from the Hill Palace.

Day 3

Drive Cochin to Kumarakom (85 kms/02 hrs)

This morning after breakfast you will check out from the hotel and start your drive to Kumarakom, the next destination on your South India tour.
On your arrival check in at the your selected retreat and spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the nature’s beauty at your own pace.

Day 4

In Kumarakom

No activities are scheduled for the day, either relax, pamper and treat yourself to the mouthwatering Kerala cuisine or head out on a cycle or a boat ride to enjoy the spectacular flora and fauna and try your hand at fishing too.

Day 5

Kumarakom to your Houseboat

After a relaxing breakfast at the resort, board on your private Houseboat for an overnight stay.
Houseboat –
One of the high points of your South India tour, will be the night spent onboard the Houseboat. These rice barges or “Kettuvallams” sail alongside the shallow palm-edged lakes and narrow canals. The House Boat takes you through the villages constructed on narrow spits of land, where you can stop at the local markets, or to see the wonder of the craftsmen engaged in centuries-old boat-making tradition. These Houseboats offer one or two small cabins with a tiny sitting area and a crew of 2 staff and a chef. The Houseboats serve authentic Keralan cuisine. The overnight stay on the Houseboat is an extraordinary experience.

Day 6

Alleppey to Kovalam (150 kms/03 hrs)

After a relaxing breakfast and a bit of cruising on the lake, disembark your houseboat at Alleppey and then drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom with its sheltered natural bay, sapphire blue water and spread of green palm groves.
On your arrival you will be met by our representative and will be transferred to your selected hotel in Kovalam for 3 nights stay.
Rest of the day is free for you to either relax or enjoy the golden sandy beaches at your own pace.

Day 7

In Kovalam

No activities are scheduled for you today, relax and enjoy the golden beaches and try some local seafood specialties and perhaps pamper yourself with some aryurveda treatment.

Day 8

In Kovalam

Relax, and enjoy the last day of your South India tour, before the journey back home.

Day 9

Kovalam to Trivandrum airport (20 kms/½ hrs) and depart Trivandrum

Have a relaxed morning and after regular check out you will be met by our representative and will be transferred to the Trivandrum airport for your flight back home.
