The Exotic East India tour starts from Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), among the majorly populated cities in the world and noted for its colonial allure, intellectuals and of course the home of Mother Teresa. The tour then goes to the Eastern Himalayas, travelling to Darjeeling, famous for its beautiful tea gardens and the grand Himalayan view. After visiting Darjeeling, continue your Exotic East Tour to the beautiful resort in the Eastern Himalayas, Kalimpong and finally the Exotic East tour ends in Gangtok, capital city of Sikkim, from where you can get the spectacular views of the World’s Highest Mountain peaks.

Day 01

Arrive Kolkata

Your Exotic East tour begins at you arrival at Kolkata airport, where you will be received by a Trans India Holidays representative and will be transferred to your selected hotel in Kolkata. Kolkata is considered as the land of various scholars. It was the capital of British India before Delhi expected this position. People in Kolkata were politically very aware and followed communism. From a small fisherman’s village Kolkata developed to become one of the major cities in the World. The city stands for originality and ardor with all the modern facilities available. Though Kolkata has altered itself to the modern trends and techniques of the world but it hasn’t cast off the laid back lifestyle and the calm of it’s hey days.

Day 2

In Kolkata

This morning head out for a sightseeing tour of Kolkata visiting the imposing Victoria Memorial - opened by the Prince of Wales in 1921, this vision in marble is often called as the "Taj" of the British Raj. Continue your sightseeing tour on to the Birla Planetarium, one of the earliest in India, and then to the St. Paul's Cathedral and the Indian Museum. Built in Italian architectural style the Museum is the largest in the country and is considered to be one of the best in Asia.

Day 3

Fly Kolkata to Bagdogra and on to Darjeeling (100 kms / 3 hrs)

After a relaxing breakfast at the hotel, you will be met and transferred to the airport to board flight for Bagdogra. On your arrival at Bagdogra Airport you will be met by our representative who will arrange your drive to Darjeeling, the next stop on your Exotic East tour. On your arrival in Darjeeling check in at your selected hotel.

Day 4

In Darjeeling

Early this morning head out for a sightseeing tour starting from the Tiger Hill, to sight the sunrise over the world's third highest peak - Kanchenjunga (28156 ft) then on to Ghoom Monastery to see one of the largest statues of the Maitreya Buddha. Later in the morning, visit the Himalayan Zoological Park - is the home to India’s only Siberian Tiger. This park also has some rare species such as the Red Panda and it is renowned for successfully breeding in Snow Leopards. The Exotic East tour also includes the visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the Gumbu Rock Site and the Tibetan Refugee self help center as well as the neighboring tea gardens.

Day 5

Drive Darjeeling to Kalimpong (55 kms/1.5 hrs)

This morning drive to Kalimpong, the next destination on your Exotic East Tour. Kalimpong is an isolated hill station set in the foothills of the gorgeous Himalayas. It is located at a moderate altitude of 1250m creating a triangle with its more eminent neighbors Darjeeling and Gangtok. Kalimpong is an excellent spot to tour in West Bengal.It is very famous for its Orchids and other flowers that grow in abundance. On your arrival in Kalimpong, you will be met nad transferred to your selected hotel for 2 night stay.

Day 6

In Kalimpong

This morning head out for a half day sightseeing tour of kalimpong starting from the Zong Do Palri Fo Brang Monastery, blessed by the Dalai Lama, the Thongsa Gompa, the oldest monastery in Kalimpong, and also to the flower nurseries where cut flowers are shipped throughout the world.

Day 7

Drive Kalimpong to Gangtok (90 kms/03 hrs)

After visiting the beautiful Kalimpong start your drive to Gangtok, the next destination on your Exotic East tour. Gangtok is the gateway to Sikkim; it is the last Shangri-La. Gangtok occupies an ascending hill and the Himalayas serve as scenery to the town. With a backdrop of the Himalayas, Sikkim offers a beautiful panoramic view, vibrant way of life, Buddhist sacred places, adventure and watersports, all close to the capital. Upon your arrival you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel for 2 night stay.

Day 8

In Gangtok

Morning excursion to the Rumtek Monastery - the major monastery of its kind in Sikkim and the main seat of the Karma Kagyu lineage, followed by a sightseeing tour of Gangtok visiting the Research Institute of Tibetology, which sponsors research into Tibetology. This internationally acclaimed centre of Tibetan Studies & Research houses a vast collection of rare Buddhist books and an orchid sanctuary, where one can see many of the 454 species of Orchids found in Sikkim.

Day 9

Drive Gangtok to Bagdogra (100kms/3 hrs) and fly to Kolkata

Your Exotic East Tour ends with a transfer to Bagdogra Airport in time to board your flight for Kolkata, on arrival at Kolkata airport you will be met by a Trans India Holidays Representative and will be transferred to your chosen hotel for an overnight stay.
